EHS Manager

About the role

As the EHS Manager you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental activities across two sites in Oslo, supporting the safe ramp‑up of a new advanced chemical production facility and driving the corporate EHS agenda locally.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic EHS inspections and compliance audits.
• Establish and maintain up‑to‑date EHS procedures, SOPs, job descriptions and training requirements.
• Deploy and enhance environmental risk management programs, including air emissions, waste and wastewater control.
• Manage emergency contingency plans, SDS requirements and behavior‑based safety observations.
• Assist plant management with process safety issues, accident investigations and preventive measures.
• Review capital projects and plant alterations for EHS compliance.
• Prepare environmental and safety compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain permits and work with external safety organizations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in EHS within industrial sectors such as chemicals, pharma, food or oil & gas.
• University degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science or related field, or recognized professional HSSE qualifications.
• Strong understanding of process safety and environmental controls, and knowledge of Norwegian and European regulations.
• Leadership ability with effective communication skills in Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language) and English.
• Positive, proactive attitude, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to conduct employee safety training.
• Project management experience, ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
