Electrician Technician - MODU Electronics

About the role

Noblecorp is looking for an Electrician Technician to maintain and repair MODU electronic control and support systems, electronic components and component interfaces. The role monitors rig electronic systems, troubleshoots and repairs them as needed, supports rig efficiency and client objectives, and keeps maintenance operations running with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair all electronic equipment onboard the rig.
• Finish incomplete repairs and maintenance projects safely, on schedule and efficiently, keeping the backlog low.
• Keep equipment failures within contractual limits and ensure permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect equipment status.
• Track and update programmable logic controller and software versions, and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
• Maintain two-way communication with crew, help train new team members and carry out other duties as assigned.
• For DP semi-submersibles: manage the rig's maintenance system (work orders), advise on improvements to the Noble Maintenance System, and attend daily departmental meetings.
• Follow safety policies, the Live Safe Code, the Hazard Identification Tool and the STOP the job process, take part in safety meetings, run Job Safety Analyses and act on unplanned hazards.
• Supervise Assistant Electronic Technicians, contractors and vendors, and indirectly rig personnel.

Required profile

• Recognized trade qualification from a technical college or apprenticeship, or equivalent, preferred.
• 5+ years of demonstrated or documented experience as an electronics technician on a MODU.
• Completion of all training requirements for the position within the designated time period.
• For DP semi-submersibles: Flag State Maintenance Supervisor license required.
• Ability to complete training, strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
