Energy Operator – Hydropower Stations

About the role

Skagerak Energi is responsible for the group's production and sale of electricity from 52 hydro power stations. Its production section runs 31 power stations and one pump station across three groups, mainly in southern Norway. This position is based on the power stations in Nissedal and Fyresdal (Upper Telemark group), with travel between Nissedal, Fyresdal, Hjartdal, Seljord and Notodden, and occasional work across groups.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance, rehabilitation and installation work on installations and equipment in the power stations and control facilities, together with other energy operators
• Lead, plan and take part in revisions of power stations and their facilities
• Contribute to efficient operation and good project delivery
• Handle maintenance tasks independently from the Jobtech system, optimising them with the work planner or operational manager
• Use maintenance resources cost-effectively over the long term
• On the horizon, join the emergency duty roster and act as a fire safety officer, and possibly lead local fire services into the power stations; smoke diver training and regular fitness and health checks are required

Required profile

• Good teamwork, independent work and sense of responsibility
• Active attitude to health, safety and the environment, high quality standards and good digital understanding
• Relevant vocational qualification such as Energy Operator, or equivalent experience; technical college is an advantage
• Experience with installation, operation and maintenance of technical plants, and knowledge of or strong interest in hydropower
• Norwegian written and spoken
