Head of Education and Culture Service

About the role

Flekkefjord municipality is looking for a head of the education and culture service, one of its three main service areas. The position leads the unit managers covering the resource centre for children and young people (including health station and cultural centre), seven municipal kindergartens, five primary schools, a secondary school, adult education and PPT. It sits in the mayor's management group and plays a central role in developing schools, kindergartens, child and youth services and culture and leisure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the main service area in line with national guidelines and municipal goals
• Ensure good financial control and efficient use of resources
• Plan and carry out transformation and development processes
• Strengthen preventive work through early intervention and cross-sector cooperation
• Secure good internal and external cooperation, including regional partnerships
• Build culture, structure and competence for quality and development
• Project management and project steering

Required profile

• Higher education, preferably in pedagogical subjects
• Good knowledge of and experience in the education sector
• Experience working with finance, personnel and change
• Strong communication skills, oral and written
• Structured, decisive and strategic, with strong relationship skills and integrity
• Personal suitability is given great weight
