IC Digital Design Intern - CMOS Image Sensors

About the role

Sony Europe is looking for an IC Digital Design Intern to join an international team designing advanced CMOS image sensors. The work covers timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement, I/O interfaces and low-noise power supplies, as well as RTL and firmware to control the sensor and process video data. The internship runs during the summer of 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in the design and development of CMOS image sensors, working with teams in Japan and across Europe and with cross-functional groups such as analogue design, product engineering and functional safety.
• Contribute to digital design, verification and validation of IP blocks and the product.
• Support internal and external stakeholders.
• Define and document specifications and take full responsibility for the success of the design.

Required profile

• Ongoing study of a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer/Software Engineering, with at least one year of studies remaining.
• Academic background in technical, electronics or software fields.
• Fluent English.
• Valid work permit in Norway.
