Payment Specialist - Merchant Sales

About the role

Global Blue by Shift4, a tax-free shopping solutions provider, is looking for a Payment Specialist to act as its frontline sales representative in an assigned territory. The role generates new business and supports existing clients by promoting Global Blue's merchant servicing products, hardware, software and professional services, driving revenue growth through prospecting, appointment setting, deal closing and relationship building.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and generate new business through phone outreach, networking and referrals.
• Set appointments with merchants to present the Payment Terminal and services, then close deals and sign new logos.
• Assist existing clients with add-on hardware, software and professional solutions.
• Build strong relationships by listening to merchant needs and resolving outstanding issues.
• Explain the value of the solutions, using laptop demonstrations or the Payment Terminal.
• Qualify opportunities and identify cross-sell and up-sell chances.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management.
• Keep regular contact with the direct manager and follow company policies.

The work is split roughly as: lead generation and prospecting 35%, sales conversion and client onboarding 30%, account management and client support 20%, administration and CRM reporting 10%, training and industry knowledge 5%.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Proven outside sales experience, such as door-to-door or territory sales, preferably in payments, financial services or technology solutions.
• Fluent English; native or proficient Norwegian.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the territory.

Required skills

• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales quotas through prospecting, cold calling and deal closing.
• CRM proficiency and effective sales pipeline management.
• Strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
• Computer and smartphone literacy.
